curriculum
AusVELS
Throughout my studies and placement I have had ample experience designing and implementing programs that coincide with the standards and progression points within AusVELS. I use the AusVELS standards to guide my teaching and learning both in curriculum planning and in assessment.
Cross-curriculum priorities
I have had experiences working in the Northern Territory in an Aboriginal community, volunteering and travelling through numerous countries in Asia and have been involved with and exposed to various school projects aiming to educate students about sustainability. With this knowledge and experience I will incorporate the three cross-curriculum priorities within each strand of the curriculum in my classroom in effective ways.
Curriculum Integration
A curriculum that integrates aspects and makes connections between the various subject fields best reflects the real world. Thus in my teaching I will plan and implement effective teaching and learning sequences that embody the standards across various domains.
The image below shows my integration of Literacy, ICT and Science into a Literacy lesson.
