professional approval
Throughout the process of constructing my teaching E-Portfolio I spoke with my mentor, supervising teacher and a graduate teacher at my placement school many times about how I was setting it up, the information I was including within it and if they could offer me advice and suggestions for improvement. I found this helpful as it gave me ideas as to what principals look for and what they want to know about you both professionally and personally.
I was lucky enough to have an interview where I took this portfolio along (3/4 finished) and it helped to stimulate scenarios that I had been involved in and acted as an enhancement to many of my answers. The interview panel were impressed and particularly liked my link to 'My Ideal Classroom'. They noted that they would have liked to have seen more pictures and personal quotes so that the portfolio was more personal rather than a display of knowledge. From this I added more photos and quotes from my teaching placements.
I gained final approval from a graduate teacher who thought I had covered all necessary areas in an effectively engaging way.
